Virus Removal

If your computer becomes infected with a computer virus it is imperative that it is removed before it causes damage if it has not already.  If not addressed in a timely fashion many if not all of the computers and/or servers can potentially be infected.

Most computer viruses are designed to be more of an inconvenience then to be completely devastating.  It is more rewarding to most virus creators to cause you hours and hours of frustration than complete devastation.  They do this because they realize that most computer users including themselves don't do regular backups.  It also allows them to attempt to access your email address book and spread the virus(s) to your friends and clients.  There is nothing worse then having to send out an email or call everyone in your address book to apologize for sending them a computer virus.  Could you imagine what might happen if you sent a virus to some of your biggest clients?

Lately the trend has been to try to steal your personal information so that someone can attempt to steal your identity, commonly called Identity Theft.  If they can get enough information they can attempt to use your credit card number, access your bank account online, get a credit card sent to them in your name, etc.  Again it is imperative that you keep your computer free of viruses and if you do get one or more to have them removed as quickly as possible.

If your computer does get infected with a computer virus we specialize in removing the viruses and almost always fix the damage it may have caused.  To completely remove the virus we recommend having the virus removed in our controlled computer lab.  This sometimes involves recovering deleted files and in the worst case scenario backup your data, reinstall the main operating system, applications, and finally your data.  Most of the time we don't have to go to this extreme but if not addressed in a timely manner some viruses can't be repaired without a clean reinstall.

The first step in computer virus prevention is using a reputable Anti-virus software and to know the limitations of this and all Anti-virus software in general.  Anti-virus software which is designed to protect your computer from computer virus infections is only as good as the viruses that it knows about or rather that it has been programmed to detect.  New computer viruses, or variations of, are created every day so it is imperative to keep your Anti-virus software up to date with program and virus list updates.  It is also advisable to not browse seedy websites or open email attachments from people you do not know.
